Peak Model RailwayExhibition 2024

8th and 9th June

 

Situated in the heart of the Peak District of Derbyshire Bakewell is a busy town with a variety of shops and cafes. The Peak Exhibition is held at the Agricultural Business Centre which is a modern purpose built venue surrounded by a large 'Pay and Display' car park a short distance from the town centre.

 

The Exhibition is due to be held over the weekend of 8th and 9th June and will host many layouts together with a selection of traders selling books and model railway items (both new and secondhand).

10am to 5pm both days.

How to get there by Car

The Agricultural Business Centre is well signposted on all roads leading to Bakewell, the access road being approximately half a mile south of the Town Centre on the A6 heading towards Matlock. The Post Code for the Centre is DE45 1AH.

 

How to get there by Bus

Frequent bus services run from the surrounding towns and villages direct to the centre of Bakewell, a short level walk away from the Agricultural Business Centre. Details of bus times are available from the Derbyshire County Council online journey planner

Peak Model Railway Exhibition 2023

 

Both Hogwarts and Churchgate were exhibited at the show in Bakewell in June 2023. Together with Timbertracks they will be at the Chesterfield exhibition at St Leonard's Mission Church, Spital on 21st and 22nd October.

 

 

Hogwarts

 

Shows the school and the station and occasionally you will see the Hogwarts Express

 

 

 

Churchgate

This two level layout recreates the British Railways diesel era from about 1958 to the later eras of privatisation

 

 

 

Timbertracks

This 009 layout creates the feel of a North American logging layout in as small a space as possible.

 

 Peak Model Railway Exhibition 2018

Karolina Falls

 This North American narrow gauge layout was fascinating visitors with the waterfall of REAL water and was awarded Layout of the Exhibition

Newburn

 A large circular layout showing the Great Western at the time just beforethe nationalisation of the railways.

 

 

Cardboard Works

 It was very impressive to see these models built of cardboard.(We cannot keep John away - he comes every year to entertain visitors and show what can be achieved using materials which cost very little).

 

Manygates

 

A fascinating small layout showing the London Underground alongside a BR yard.
