It is, of course, 200 years since railways started in England and the country is celebrating with all sorts of events. Chesterfield's celebrations arew based around George Stephenson, who spent the last years of his life in the town and id buried in Holy Trinity Church.
On 27th October 2025 the church had an anniversary day that also is the start of major community projects at the church.
One of our members, Malcolm Wilkinson was invited to show his gasworks layout that is part of our new modular layout.

New Modular Layout
We are currently building a new modular layout using small boards that are easy to transport to local exhibitions. The track has been laid and scenery will be added shortly. Pictures will be added to the Group layouts page soon to show the construction is progessing. It is hoped to have it finished and ready for display at our 2026 Exhibition in Bakewell on 6th and 7th June
